We are the descendants of a famous Syrian entrepreneur hail from Cannai Thoma who had landed at moorchi, popularly known as kodungallur during his second visit to kerala in a Schooner in the early centuries. When Dutch Admiral William Baker Jacob, decided to rebuilt the chettuva Fort in 1766 the Chakramakkil Chakunny Tharakan descendent of Thoma had the responsibility of supervise for the building of the fort. After the completion of the fort he wants to settle in a suitable place for the procurement of Coir products. Then he reached with family wear Chavakandam backwater namely chavakkad Amsom.

I represent the 9th generation of Chakunny Tharakans family tree and have served in the opportunity of serving my country during the Indo-Pak War in 1971. Government awarded the Indian Soldiers With medals of bravery and I was fortunate enough to be one of them. I have also explored the American and French oil Exploration Companies While working in Persian Gulf. I also visited Australia, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Fiji, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Mauritius, New Zealand, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi, Singapore & U.A.E

The great martial art of kerala, "Kalaripayattu", as well as famous Ayurvedic treatment are being advocated by our family. During the reign of Tippu Sulthan, Chakramakkil family was designated the responsibility of guarding the palayur ST. Thomas holy church, which is the first church in India. But due to some unforseen incidences, when the church was destroyed in a unfortunate fire accident the holy mass were conducted in Chakramakkil families "KOTTIL" Chakramakkil family has been a part of lot of prominent historical events.
